Hello!
My name is Derrick and this is my blog ADK or Adirondack survival. The Adirondack Park is a state park located in up state New York, which is nothing like "New York." Most people think NY and think city well my AO is actually closer to Canada then NYC. I live on an approximate 45 Acre plot in the up state region. On my property I pretty much pretend to homestead, I say pretend because I work just a hair over 40 hours a week to make ends meet... I would like to think I try to homestead but in realty I just pretend on my little plot of land. I also spend a fair amount of time in the woods hunting, camping, practicing wilderness survival and bushcrafting... I enjoy being in the woods with only what it takes. Aside from that I do enjoy a few mechanical luxuries like my ATV, snowmobile, chainsaw, and wood splitter... I also enjoy amateur radio. As a general class ham I enjoy VHF, UHF, and a bit of HF... I originally became involved in amateur radio through emergency preparedness but found a hobby I very much enjoy. Always keep in mind though, engines and electronics come in second place, to a good fixed blade and fire starter. Don't forget a good metal container and tarp ether.
